Above is the last painting i've done, about 2 weeks ago, based on a memory of a horse. Its maybe not my best painting, but its where i'm going to start because this is what i've arrived at after three years painting for a degree. Three years ago my work looked like this
..i could control my hand well enough, but i think my lack of experience shows, they aren't very painterly, rely on easy colours, and as for content i think i was more comfortable just painting girls.
This was done just before i left uni, still have a preoccupation with painting girls, but at least i can paint them well now.
The greenhouse at the bottom of my dads garden is becoming more appealing, i'm going to be painting in their over the winter, just a week left of leaflet distributing before i'm unemployed again, and at this moment six canvases are working their way through the postal system to me.. my first real 'studio' (or as close as) since i left uni, my first concentrated effort to paint outside of uni.. and its gonna be cold.
